This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
No problem. I've been looking for some visual inspiration for the graphic novel I'm writing and your stuff (the zombie/monster illustrations especially) is pretty much exactly what I've been looking for. So thank you, your work has definately helped mine.
You're welcome. Some of your work (the Warhammer 40k and tyranid stuff especially) is proving to be useful inspiration for the visuals in the graphic novel I'm writing. Definately made me want to see what you're going to be working on.
Of course, it's a horror graphic novel called 'Lost in the Flood' It's about a small white-trash town with a malignant horror festering at the heart of it. The story follows the chaos of several people's lives, among them a pastor trying to lead his family and congregation into fringe fundamentalism, his wayward teen daughter who's losing herself in sex, drugs, and a dream of getting out of the town, and an out of work drunk who's slowly drowning himself in cheap vodka and self denial. Flourishing along side them is pustulent and riotous growth that creeps out from an abandoned factory that teenagers and bums frequent. As everyone's lives get more and more out of control the horror seeps out from corners and cracks, twisting bodies and minds. People get sick, irritable, violent, overtly sexual, and above all else hungry. Eventually the town is infested with mutant freaks that have abandoned all reason and look only to sate their appetite for flesh. Those not infected only worsen the problem by relying on their own vices for comfort. When the source of all the mutation and cancerous growth finally awakens the town and its inhabitants is already lost to the cruel comforts of true ecstasy. The self cannot stand up to the flood of sensation.
Hopefully that doesn’t sound too cheesy or clichéd. I’m not all that good at writing brief synopses. I’m doing my best to write something very dark thematically, psychologically, and visually. It starts off even enough but slowly builds in tension as the madness, brutality, and mutation escalate. By the end things have gotten pretty out of hand.
I’ve been looking up various artwork that can offer up ideas for what the growth and the thing at the center of it look like as well possible mutations (the more originally and disturbing the better). As I’m sure you’re aware, warhammer 40k has some pretty twisted stuff when it comes to that (Nurgle, Tyranids, Mutants) but I’ve also been looking for illustrations of everything from zombies to fungus, to mollusks. So far, I’ve gotten some good ideas (of which some of your work has been a help).
it reminds me (only tangentially) of a dean koontz novel I read some years ago, where the characters entered a town and it was being corrupted by some kind drug or something that made their dream and nightmares manifest in reality. people turned into a wide variety of movie monsters, others melded with their computers, etc.
I look forward to hearing more about your project. let me know if you have an special requests
